This module offers students the opportunity to learn and work in a healthcare context that is emerging as a compelling challenge and site of research and practice in our contemporary culture.

As we know creativity is one of the defining pillars in MISA with a purpose built ‘Creative Life Studio’ at its heart. Working within MISA and the Creative Life Space the students developed art work in response to the hospital / its environments or services / or with patients and staff, and have have been very lucky to have had privileged access to a significant environment.

They spent time in the Creative Life Space observing and learning about the hospital its patients and staff and also experiencing the importance and potential spaces like The CL space within in a hospital setting and in particular its value the context of aging.

The past few months have looked very different for everyone and the students found themselves working in isolation from home. This video is an opportunity to showcase some of the work they have made in response to this Module even though they found themselves removed from the space.

Before I play the showcase video Id just like to say a big thank you to all the staff and patients who worked with us and in particular Roisin Nevin who’s allowed us to be in the space ask questions and connect students with staff. Her patience and knowledge was invaluable.
