I got up early in the morning to see what was supposed to be a very blue-skies sunrise. Instead it was mostly cloudy, which gives this movie a kind of moody mysterious feel. Rest assured ~ the sun WILL come out, in a surprising way about half way through this short video.

McDaniels Marsh is in Springfield, NH. There is an excellent Fish & Game Department boat ramp. At the end of summer, with months of unusually hot weather and low water levels, this marsh has become fairly weeded over, but there are narrow passages that can get you all the way up towards the north end.

If you are interested in any of the "behind the scenes" techniques in how I film such smooth video from a kayak, I am actually planning on making a video that shows the system. The short version is that I have been using a hand-held gimbal stabilizer for my mirrorless camera, and over the last few days I have invented and built a way to securely attach the gimbal to the hull of my kayak. It is a pretty cool system, when I want to start recording, it only takes a second to aim the camera and touch the record button.
