Something about us is an anthology of very short films entirely created by a wide variety of autistic people. Conceived of by Dinah and commissioned for the 2007 launch ceremony of Treehouse - the UK national support charity for families and individuals living with autism. Dinah is credited as the curator but she also created her own personal contribution which I edited with her. She insisted on being uncredited as she wanted others to have the limelight. I’ve added her end credit entry at the start. This short video gives you a glimpse into some of her inner joy in her own spectrum mind. Productive irritant was the monicker she adopted to describe herself. In this film she also shares her feelings about being on the spectrum, how it’s seen by others and how it feels to have to fit in. It ends with a call to action for more tolerance and active resistance to the neurotypical status quo.
