Festival UK* 2022 is a celebration of the UK’s creativity and innovation, backed by £120million of new investment.

The Festival will take place across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland.and Wales throughout 2022. It will deliver a programme of ground-breaking large-scale new commissions with the ambition of reaching millions; achieving the projects two objectives of bringing people together and promoting the UK’s creativity to the world.

A special purpose vehicle ("Festival 2022 Ltd") has been established in Birmingham, overseen by an independent Chair and Board. Martin Green CBE is Chief Creative Officer for the Festival, leading a team to curate, manage and promote the project; working with strategic delivery bodies within each nation to devise and deliver the programme.

The Festival will create opportunities for jobs and commissions within sectors significantly impacted by COVID-19.

UK Government is investing £120million of new funding distributed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Scottish Government, the Northern Ireland Executive and the Welsh Government.
