This is from a trip we had back in 2012. The science crew had a film crew filming their project for a future production, so when we were asked by the Coast Guard to respond to this sail boat in need (they were dis-masted on their way to California but were @150 miles north of Oahu) they took this footage and gave me a copy. This was filmed by Wide Eye Productions, so it is truly professional. This video is only a few minutes long but the ‘rescue’ took a few hours! I’m in the boat with my great friend and great shipmate Chris. You can hear me and captain Rick talking on the radio. We did in fact meet the crew at La Mariana’s once we got back to Honolulu, a few days later.
