Reel for the VFS Latin America 2021 Talent Scholarships
for the VR/AR Design & Development program

As I looked out the airplane window, I turned to my mother in awe of the vast oceanic landscape and told her: “I bet it’s more than just water under us. Maybe this is just like the Kamino planet, and Jango Fett is having another epic fight with Obi Wan.”

My mother smiled and said: “I’m glad you have places you can escape to.
Life without imagination is simply boring.”

I took this to heart and, ever since, I’ve learned to expand my creativity and inventiveness not only through craft and VFX, but also through challenging life experiences. By learning the technical aspects of digital compositing, VR and AR, I have been able to create ambitious projects, such as this Tron inspired 360 VR tour made in Maya, an escape room video game (made for Google cardboard) that takes place in a spaceship which was programmed in Unity, the 3D models in Maya and all the cinematics and FUI in After Effects.
While working for Snapchat, I won 7th place in the national pride month Lensathon by telling a short story of empowerment, freedom, and pride for the LGBTQ+ community.

As a young woman who has already gone through pregnancy and various emotional challenges in my early years, I owe it to myself to pursue my own reality and life-long dreams in a community where creativity, professionalism and personal growth is of utmost importance. VFS is just the perfect place to do so.
