Description
For feedback to contribute to transformative, radical change, nonprofits and foundations must be prepared to not just listen to the people most impacted by their work, but to also act on the feedback even when what they hear isn’t in line with their existing plans. Organizations must trust that people know what’s best for themselves and their communities, and be willing and able to change their programs to help people realize their own visions for their lives. In this session, we’ll hear from leaders who’ve thrown out their organizational plans when the people at the heart of their work made it clear they wanted something different. Through lightning talks, case studies, and deep discussion, we’ll learn about the challenges these leaders have faced, the rewards they’ve seen and the processes they’ve used as they’ve shifted control over decisions to the people most impacted by the systems they’re seeking to change.
