In order to promote better hygiene, NASA has designed a vibrating necklace to stop people from touching their faces.
The ‘PULSE’ pendant was developed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in order to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
When someone raises their hands to their head, the necklace will vibrate, reminding them to stop.
"The haptic feedback from a vibration motor simulates a nudge, reminding the wearer to avoid touching these entryways in order to reduce potential infection," NASA.
Experts have warned that touching your face with unwashed hands can increase your chance of infection.
While the pendant is not actually for sale, NASA has released the design instructions so anyone can make their own.
They say that the technology is simple and affordable, and anyone can assemble the accessory, regardless of technical ability.
To make a ‘PULSE’ you will need a 3D printer, a soldering tool, a small motor, a coin battery, and other small materials.
NASA has been developing a number of other health-related products, including a ventilator prototype
