MDT Is NOT A Treatment.
MDT is an algorithm.
You don’t HAVE to use it to get people in pain better. It’s not the be all end all.
You could use intuitive reasoning to get to an answer.
Much like you don’t have to use an algorithm to solve a Rubik’s cube.
I could just play around with random combinations until I solved it. But that’s exhausting.
In fact this was what I was doing when trying to solve people’s complex pain problems BEFORE I learned the MDT algorithm.
It was like when most people pick up a Rubik’s cube without an algorithm in their head. They just get frustrated and give up.
When I learned the MDT algorithm it simply allowed me to get to an answer faster, reliably.
Add to that discovery of rapid responding joint pain, it allowed me to diagnose people’s pain faster AND identify rapid response in 80% of my patients.
That’s difference between intuitive reasoning and an empirical methodology.
That’s the difference between standard care and MDT.
And because it’s an algorithm to get to the correct diagnosis faster, it’s SCALABLE and it can leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence.
That’s why it’s a game changing disruptive technology.
