Kashana, Lahore, Pakistan. Kashana is a Pakistan provincial government (Punjab government) funded girls only orphanage or shelter where Pakistani orphan girls of all religions are given shelter, clothing, food and a vocational education. Many have completed college degrees and have been married and left the orphanage. In 2019, a scandal became public when the managing officer of the orphanage accused upper management officials in Punjab government's Social Welfare department and a Provincial Minister to be complicit in a scheme to build a multi-story building within the orphanage where outsiders (men) would pose to live with selected orphan girls after forced marriages . . . this arrangement would serve as a brothel where the rich and influential men would arrive to have paid sex with the orphan girls and the men who forcibly married these girls would serve as a legal cover in case of a police raid. This video shows the whistle blower manager of the orphanage just before being arrested by the Punjab Police in an effort to frighten her and pursuade her to take back her written complaint made to the Punjab Government. The orphan girls can be seen crying and hugging the whistle blower woman, Mrs. Afshan Lateef.
