Some gameplay animations for my work on The Last of Us Part 2. I was responsible for almost all NPC hit and death reaction animations and their implementation into the game (excluding melee). In addition, I contributed to game mechanics including NPC motion matching locomotion, traversal systems, gestures/aims and more.

I want to give a big thank you to my leads, Almudena Soria and Jeremy Yates, my awesome NPC teammates, Laura Swartz, Michelle Huynh, Morgan Earl, and our incredible leader, Michal Mach, who taught me so much and constantly astounds me with his patience and knowledge.

All shots are a blend of motion capture and keyframe animation.

00:00 - Clicker ambient walk loop and idle. Responsible for pose ideation and final core poses for the clicker in this demeanor.
00:07 - Infected dismember into crawl transition animations.
00:13 - Bloater fire hit reaction
00:17 - Ratking explosion. Responsible for character animation and pustule explode and regrow animations.
00:20 - Put out fire animations for NPCs.
00:22 - Clicker bullet stun and death
00:26 - Shambler fire hit reaction
00:30 - Super stalker fire death
00:32 - Dismemberment deaths for enemy NPCs
00:35 - Bullet and leg stun animations for human and infected enemies. Responsible for animating and configuration in the engine to blend well between other deaths and systems.
00:37 - Abby cavalry ambush section. Animated cavalry rider deaths and worked with the team to implement horse death animations. Setup horse rider aim and aim transition gestures.
00:40 - Neck deaths looking at the player. Prototyped and collaborated with programming to get eye and head gestures running on specific deaths for the subtle glance at the player on death.
00:45 - Ratking hit reaction
00:50 - Ratking Death IGC. Responsible for all animation on Ratking and flashlight. Camera animation by Michael Gambino.
