In the first half, Dan guides you through a Pranayama (breath) technique called Bhramari (or Humming Bee Breath). The application of this technique is intended to increase vagal tone, as well as to be able to absorb sensory information through the gut (interoception).

In the second half, Dan guides you through a meditation designed to "pull" the awareness back from the face and frontal portions of the brain, and to be able to access the more primitive centers of the brain. Eventually, you will be encouraged to drop your attention into the space of the heart and gut. In Chinese and Himalayana systems of meditation, the space around the bladder (2 inches below the navel) is a vital center for digestive and reproductive health.

The pervading motif of this meditation practice is to begin to fear less, worries less, and absorb the information fear provides through the gut as a pathway for gaining wisdom. The hope is to not have to continue making the same mistakes - and, more importantly, to fully enjoy the juiciness that life has to offer.
