I have used the last few days as I have been trapped by the gloomy weather indoors to think through how challenging being home is from all sides.
Parents are spinning many plates right now and trying to work from home while helping you with online classes, keeping the pantry stocked, and keeping a routine, to name a few.
Students, I empathize that you are still adjusting to online classes, missing spending time with friends, and frustrated that you can't do the things that you would normally do.
Our faculty are feeling very similar emotions. You see, any person in education loves children. We enter this profession because we want to educate, spend time with, and nurture children. Teachers get their energy (like filling up a car's gas tank) from YOU… being around your personalities, your questions, your vibe.
While technology allows us to see your face and hear your voice, nothing compares to being in the classroom. So, maybe take a moment today to tell a teacher how much they mean to you. Our teachers are adjusting to this new norm too. Trust me, kind words from you will help fill up their gas tank!
