My name is Samantha White and I am an MBA (Distance Learning) student at Warwick Business School.

This video explains that I am conducting a research study entitled: Changing Fortunes: Making The Transition From Entrepreneur to Wealth Manager. This is not funded by an external body.

The aim of the research study is to explore the emotional, psychological and social challenges entrepreneurs experienced before, during and after a liquidity event and their transition to wealth managers.

The fieldwork stage of the study will comprise of a one-to-one, semi-structured interview with me, which will be digitally audio recorded with your consent. Audio recording the interview gives me the opportunity to transcribe, analyse and reflect on the responses you give. The interview will last approximately forty-five minutes to one hour, during which you will be asked a series of semi-structured questions. The interview will take place during normal working hours, via Skype or other approved medium, due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

The possible benefit of taking part in this study is sharing your experience and knowledge of liquidity events. The research study will enable a better understanding of how entrepreneurs navigate their way through the major life changes and challenges that a liquidity event creates. It is anticipated that the findings will generate a greater awareness and understanding of such challenges and produce recommendations that may shape future policy and practice in the fields of entrepreneurship and wealth management.
