The world we live in has been built on unsolid ground. Long before COVID, I learned this through living in a developed country, Iran, which was followed by immigration. Going through the pandemic was a reminder that solidarity and transformation can happen repeatedly in our lives. What is important is how we acknowledge it, learn from it, and apply what we have learned to our personal and professional lives. "Building solid experiences on unsolid ground" is my story as an immigrant designer. I share the story of the solidarity and transformations that made me who I am today. I hope that we can all learn to translate our griefs, sadnesses, and hopelessness to long-term solid experiences for future generations. There might be a lot of things in this world that we cannot change overnight, but there are way more things that we can improve one step at a time.

I am a senior product designer at Microsoft. With a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Shahid Beheshti university and a master’s degree in human-computer interaction and design from the university of Washington and over 6 years of experience in research, design, and software development, I bring an engineering perspective and a creative problem-solving approach to her design process.
