On September 12, 1971, at 9:28PM, Palisades Amusement Park closed its gates for the last time. But the memories of Palisades live on for all who were ever lucky enough to walk its midways. This song is a tribute to Palisades, but also to every amusement park that holds a special place inside those who are young at heart.
Singing the lead in this song is Cathy Cebulski Sacco. Her voice has the perfect feel for this trip down memory lane.
The music and lyrics were written by Vince Gargiulo and Gene Focarelli. Vince and Gene have been writing comedy and music since the late 1960s. Cathy joined Vince and Gene in the 1970s in their musical-comedy group, Gargerelli. All three of them hail from Cliffside Park, a short distance from Palisades Amusement Park.
