In this video the upper and lower monitors have different input sources. The upper monitor still displays what the main camera sees - which is the upper monitor - creating a feedback loop. But, instead of the lower monitor showing that same image from the main camera, now it's getting its input from the camera on an iPhone, which is looking down at the lower monitor (through the beam splitter glass) - which creates its own feedback loop.
The images from the lower monitor's feedback loop are mixed with the upper monitor's feedback loop when the main camera looks through the beam splitter glass at the upper monitor. And, the images from the upper monitor's feedback loop are mixed with the lower monitor's feedback loop when the iPhone looks down at the lower monitor through the glass.
