This was my third assignment for Advanced Motion Methods, where we had free rein over how long to make the piece and what music to cut to. Blend was the most challenging project of the whole course, in my opinion, so obviously it’s my favorite. Probably because the simplicity of the art made it the easiest to overthink it. My ambition got the better of me, so this project took up the majority of my free time while finishing the rest of the course. I had a blast creating additional storyboards for my animatic, and in the end I stuck pretty closely to my plan. Making the decision to pick up Sander’s Ray Dynamic Color plugin was key, because it did save me a lot of time. Also using the Cartoon Moblur plugin instead of the built in Echo effect, saved my playback speed and render times.
