This Week: Just as a couple must invest in their relationship, believers must also invest in their relationship with God.

Song of Songs 5:6-8 - SEARCHING

- Her new husband has left, and she longs for him
- She wants to find him, so she goes searching
- Could be a dream or poetic exaggeration

?? What encounter does she have with the guards ??
- They mistreat her without her husband there
- Her security is gone
- She feels exposed
- She is “faint with love” - Needs her lover

?? Is this a healthy marriage relationship ??
- Expressing need, desire, and dependance
- They are joined and now function together
- Demands of the throne make their relationship difficult

- We Need God

- If we are committed & driven by Him, people will notice
- Those who don’t have a relationship with God become curious and seek to understand

- Her experience with him

- Her love is a choice
- She chooses to love these things about him
- She focuses on the good things
- Learns about him by spending time with him

- We need to choose love and commitment
- We need to focus on the positive in people
- Forgiveness, Love, Mercy, Grace
- No one is perfect, but we can choose our reaction
- Our attitude goes a long way
