That tale’s appeal is undeniable. Timeless, really.
Why would someone steal my pack of fables
and leave my precious kitchen table untouched?
But if a spectral thief is not to blame—
well, there’s just me here. Cuing the band
to play a custom piece of mythic music,
supplanting planned nights out to the latest ballet.
