My Girl is a kitchen sink thriller about first love that turns out to be anything but that. Struggling to fit in, Ava is swept up when a mysterious boy shows interest in her. He’s handsome, older and seems completely devoted to her, everything a 16-year-old girl idealises.
Made in the summer of 2017 as one of WMAF’s first productions, My Girl - written and directed by Zoe Hollis - tells a violent and unsettling tale of high school relationships and teenage romance. With music from Mistress and graphic design by Get Wrecked Designs, My Girl was inspired by old slasher films in its aesthetics.
