While he loves to play sports, he also enjoys singing and writing poems and songs. His dream is to be a professional basketball or football player, but he is also interested in mechanics. Joshua thinks life with a family would be “normal”. He wants a family who is honest with one another and who will accept him as he is.

Transcription:
Hi, my name is Joshua, and I'm 17. I like to be a leader mostly to little kids and be out in the community and helping. I didn't really have much of a person to guide me. So I like to help them if I can, or if somebody come to me and and I try to be honest as I can. When I turned 16, I was like, I'm not going to worry about future , the past, I'm fixing to worry about now. I just put it in God's hand, if you want me be here. Oh, I'm in a situation. Let me see what I could do and this and that. Its basically like that.

I write poems, I write my own songs mostly. There's a staff member up here who writes songs for me and he knows that I can sing and everything since I'm in the high school choir.

What I write on a piece of paper is what I feel, and it depends on my mood. What I write say like, if I'm sad, then I'll write something sad, or if it's something happy, then I'll write some happy. It's about love. I'll write something about love. Or if it is just if I'm bored, I just put whatever comes to mind and try to just go with the flow mostly.

My ideal family is basically people who have an understanding on the household, who have respect for each other.

I hope it's not weird, but it's not that bad. I don't think it's like a bad thing. Like people say, oh, I'm fixing to get adopted. It's just that somebody else want to take the time and need to take care of me and want to be there for me.

If I get adopted by a new family, then I will give them my whole heart.
