The University of Auckland Fine Arts FINEARTS 224 group short film project. Completed in semester one 2021.
Synopsis: This psychological drama depicts a young girl navigating the self through a warped reality. The scenes scroll through the domestic setting and outside of it through an eerie, nihilistic lens. Our nameless protagonist finds herself trapped in a mysterious dream. First, she is unable to leave the confines of the elevator, then she feels the weight pressed underneath her shoe as she climbs the staircase with no end nor beginning. She continues walking but is unable to escape this treacherous cycle. She lingers and paces around this new universe until the alarm rings. The protagonist is fated to rise and sleep again, trapped forever. This film intends to encapsulate the enigmatic experience and process of dreaming, combined with the cruel reality of the average life cycle.
