What we believe (about ALLLLL the things we're not supposed to talk about at polite dinner parties: sex, politics, religion, and money) informs our worldview ... and our worldview informs our pedagogy, from how we set up our studio policies, to what styles of music we teach and why, to what kind of students we recruit, to how we interact with students, to how we choose repertoire, to our expectations around behaviour, to how we frame and motivate practicing ... AND EVERYTHING I DIDN'T MENTION TOO.
And even if we're not saying what we believe explicitly (as I am wont to do), we DARNED WELL ARE saying what we believe implicitly ALL THE GOSH-DARNED TIME. #pinkyswear
