‘Hungry? Will You Join Me?’ is a fashion capsule collection and an accompanying short film inspired by the unconscious intimacy that reveals itself in the visual language of 2000s Asian Cinema.
Raw tenderness shown through striking visuals in the form of composition, colour and grain.
The short film revolves around the power that food has to bring people together and experience the inherent intimacy of sharing a meal. Deep connections between people underlie their ability to eat silently but comfortably together.
Contextually, this exploration stems from the unspoken affection that is experienced with the archetypal
Chinese/immigrant family. When preparing and sharing a meal, love and care is said without direct words.
‘Hungry? Will You Join Me?’ is an embodiment of these ideas as an intersection between cinema and fashion.
