Yang Deshan, 94 years old, is the last surviving street hawker of the pre-Revolution Beijing who can still perform. He used to sell everything from clothes to Muslim cakes and vegetables. He knows so many songs, and he can't stop talking about it. But his memory if fading fast, so I need to record as much as I can as quickly as I can. The unfamiliar setting of the recording studio made him rather nervous so we decided to record at his home in future.
