Fairmont State University held its 2021 Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 9 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Palatine Park.
Participants include Parade Marshall Swain and Loyd White; Lifetime Achievers Honorees were Charlie Reese, Devanna Corley, Rocco Fucillo, Porter Stiles, Kathy Hypes, Randy Farley, Col. Robert Vincent and Stacey Bowers. Others in the parade were various organizations and clubs, such as Black Student Union, Catholic and Baptist Student Ministries, Student Government, and Football Team. Community Business were represented like Woods Boat House, Helmick Foundation, State Farm, and Chick-Fil-A.
Individuals were included such as Board of Governor Representative Jon Dodds.
East Fairmont Rockets football teams participated. Marion County Board of Education Superintendent Donna Hage rode while the STEAM Bus and the Technical Center participated. Board member Donna Costello and Gia Deasy, Administrative Assistant, Special Services, walked the Parade Route.
Bands from Fairmont State University and North Marion High School filled the air with constant music
The Marion County Police Reserve Patrolled the Route and the Fairmont Police led and finished the event
