Ottomata develops interactive installations and immersive journeys since 2017 that use the human body and crowd movements as the core of their stories. Because of this, we have developed multiple software solutions that we usually use to enhance environments in an entertaining way. With the current crisis, we set out to modify and adapt our entertainment solutions to be as useful as they could for the authorities but still retain a certain touch of fun.
We have a social distancing ludification software available right now that can display in real-time the distance between people in a waiting line or in a public space by using video projections. It is therefore possible to know if people are correctly respecting the 2 meters distance between them and display it in a visual way or to couple it with an audio alarm. Our solution can also be skinned in multiple ways to make the visual more appealing and create a more immersive environment or that add some gaming or educational elements to the projection mapping. Finally, it is also useful to display public announcements in combination with the distance.
