At the end of my very long beach walk, I stumbled upon beautiful Black-bellied plovers & Dunlin! They were keeping warm together, keeping one leg tucked up, swaying back and forth. This was my first time seeing the plovers, and was surprised how large they looked compared to the Dunlin. I learned that the BB plovers breed in the northern most part of the Arctic! Much farther north than most species of birds. I love watching wildlife when the waves are crashing behind them. It's an incredible feeling in person. I had fun with this one..here's some Liberace to ring in the New Year
