The Treasure Map is a short film by Clare Ann Matz.
This is her debut as narrative filmmaker, after many years creating music videos, video art, pix poems and television shows.

The Treasure Maps is about a young man who travels to Thailand on his own. At the airport her comes across a strange booklet named "The Treasure Map", he picks it up and decides to keep it.
He also encounters a young woman, and they decide to travel together in search of the treasure the booklet promises.
The Treasure Map is the journey of a trip to Thailand as a metaphor of the search for personal growth and enlightenment.

Filmed in 2004 "on the road" the footage was recuperated and re-edited in 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Soundtrack music is mostly by Moby although there is also a precious scene during a celebration in a camp of Chao Lay, sea gypsies who have lived on the shores of Thailand for centuries, with singing and violins.
The narrative is in English, the original dialogues are in Italian.
