The Graduate Certificate in Documentary Media Studies at The New School is an intensive one-year program in documentary cinema. It offers small, tightly-focused classes in documentary production, theory and history. Each student completes a short non-fiction film which is then showcased at the end of the year during the program’s annual public film festival, Truth Be Told.

The Doc Studies program also features Doc Talks, a Q&A series with visiting guest filmmakers from the documentary community in New York and beyond. See excerpts here on our Vimeo channel.
