Straight8 is a film festival where all entrants have one Super 8 cartridge on which they shoot their film. The film is shot/exposed and sent to the festival for processing without knowing what it looks like. The composer even has to score the film without seeing it. The soundtrack is then emailed to the festival where it is synced up to the scanned roll of film. The filmmakers only see the final result after it has been judged and, if they are selected, they have to wait to see the final result at the premiere!
