Fifth part of the full film broken into sections: Gate Five is about The Navy Club. Dad was entertainments secretary and ultimately chair of the RNA in Coventry which he served for over forty years on and off. In this section of the work I embody the activities of the Navy club where I also performed from aged 12 onwards. Little Blue Man is a walking performance project exploring grief, memory, ancestry, ex-service social clubs and familial mythology. The performance film is the culmination of several indoor and outdoor explorations and photo journeys stemming from a first autobiographical work 'My Sister, My Angel' presented in Coventry in 1996 culminating in a walking performance presented in Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset in 2015. This final edit brought all elements together.
