I was having a problem when doing strict handstand push ups.

My toes were not sliding easily up the wall even while wearing socks.

So I went on Instagram (follow me instagram.com/dadshredded) and asked if anyone had any tips to make the feet glide smoothly up the wall.

Upside down wall push ups as it is are very hard to do, so I didn’t need the added wall friction to the exercise.

People suggested using smooth, fluffy socks, backer board, card board, plywood, some even said lube and roller blades lol.

I ended up going with self-adhesive clear laminate.

It’s a very cheap film that's used to protect objects and it’s very slick.

So I stuck it to the wall and tested it with a quick hspu workout and sure enough, it worked like a charm.

My feet slid up and down the wall without any restrictions.

This definitely helps shift your focus on doing the handstand push ups instead of your worrying about your feet.

I’m sharing this handstand push up tip because I’m sure there’s other people out there with the same problem.

Whether your hspu wod uses strict HSPU, kipping handstand push ups, or parallette handstand push ups, this will make your HSPU much smoother.
