Massachusetts librarians are invited to partner with Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (CREW) to host climate change events across the state as part of Climate Preparedness Week (September 21st - 28th, 2020). The webinar will offer background on Climate Preparedness Week, a school librarian's story and examples of events that can be adapted for virtual engagement. The goal of the week is to build community resilience and create a safety net in advance of extreme weather events. Let your imagination run wild (e.g. environmental justice training, go bag workshops, youth leadership circles, mindfulness practices, book talks, film screenings, virtual displays). You can also partner with CREW to share one of the featured events they are offering.
All types of librarians (public, academic, school, archives, special) are invited to participate.
*Participating libraries will be represented on an interactive map on CREW’s website.
