Following my first experiment with video during lockdown when I was out walking with the ebb tide, I decided to extend my project further. It is important to me that my working methods collaborate easily with the experience of my walks, so I had to get mobile with the camera. This is difficult using my old cumbersome DSLR which really needs a tripod for filming. So I decided that I should try filming handheld with a mobile phone. Hopefully, this will allow me to introduce some movement and produce something more meaningful and intimate.

I think this project is really about time, and how we might experience a place over time. I'm looking forward to exploring various ideas, threads and connections. This first experiment begins with a linear timeline from one short walk, then skips to a series of shifting horizons....... I am not embarking with a very specific goal or message in mind, rather I hope to learn or reveal something about this repetitive engagement with the tides and time.
