More info:
In The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400, 3 dancers will lead you on a journey through history, using movement, text and music to explore what it was really like for many of the passengers (including some from Hampshire and neighbouring Surrey) who undertook a historic journey from England to America aboard the Mayflower in 1620.

Playful, imaginative and moving, The Imagination Museum is a performance about determination and the extraordinary things that it makes ordinary people do.

"Awesome, grinned from ear to ear all the way through" (Audience member)

Suitable for all ages

The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400 project brings to life museum collections, heritage sites, historical stories and themes through fun and engaging dance performances and workshops. It draws on the historic story of the Mayflower’s voyage from England to America, and began in Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire in 2019, is now travelling to Hampshire and will culminate in Plymouth from May - October 2020. The Mayflower set sail from Plymouth in September 1620, and the 400th anniversary will be commemorated nationwide this year.

The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400 project is produced by Made By Katie Green , supported financially using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England as part of the Strategic Touring programme, Hampshire Cultural Trust, The Box, West Lindsey, Plymouth, Nottinghamshire, Hampshire County (through Councillor Peter Latham in Fareham) and Bassetlaw District Councils, Pavilion Dance South West, the Surf the Wave programme and The Charter Trustees of East Retford, and also delivered in partnership with the Pilgrim Roots Regional Partnership, Transported, The Point, Plymouth Dance and Plymouth Culture.
