21-22/12/20 mmmmm Can You Hear Me? Festival of Performance, National School of Drama, Bangalore, India. A performance work with Srishti University of Art and Design in reference to Girish Kanard’s Tale-Danda (Headless) and contemporary indian political issues and , light by Ravi at NSD.
Inspired by Girish Karnad’s play Tale-Danda, “Can you hear me?” is a performance art work exploring ideas of the collective body and the individual through movement, objects and sound. The performers form a living painting, using space as a canvas and their bodies as multiple structures, coming together and splitting apart, constantly reorganising in movements layered with voice and sound, reminiscent of symbolism in myth and mythology. Drawing on ritual and contemporary issues the performance explores the social structures and prejudices discussed in Tale-Danda through fluidity and metamorphosis.
