This Rolex Datejust 36 is one of our previous Deal of the Week. A Rolex reference 1630, it's a really interesting watch from 1978. It features the integrated bracelet most associated with the Rolex Oysterquartz, as well as flat and tapered links reminiscent of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus. A very unique rendition of the classic Rolesor Datejust and a good representation of 70s era watches.

Deal of the week here at SwissWatchExpo. This is a Rolex reference 1630, and it's a really interesting watch from 1978. It has that great Gerald Genta look to it, but it's not an Oysterquar that you're used to seeing with this case and link shape. So the case is flattened out from a regular Datejust, and the links are flat and tapered just like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak or Patek Philippe Nautilus that Gerald Genta was also famous for designing. This one is interesting though, because it is a regular automatic mechanical movement beating at just under 20,000 beats an hour. You can see that in second hand and just running like a top right there. Not like a quartz Oysterquartz with one beat per second, that the regular automatic winding mechanical version. This watch is from 1978 and 2005 Rolex fully serviced it and replaced the bracelet. And it's never been worn since then. So we call it virtually mint condition.
