Remnant

In Remnant, I took a video of one of the most famous Indonesian’s Traditional dances called “ Tari Cendrawasih “ and datamoshed the video, resulting in an eerie and dream like images, forms and shapes throughout the movement of the dancer and camera. Remnant is about a culture that have been disrupted by globalisation, modernisation and ignorance. A culture is a heritage, it is something to be passed down as humans are the vessel that carries it. But as time goes by, traditional culture are forgotten and left under the shadow, trying hard to be seen in the light. A sense of nostalgia and unfamiliarity is conveyed throughout the video, a culture being disrupted by the present, a remnant of a culture.
