Based on a responsive daily book project created during a 2 month road trip during spring 2019. Each day a line was drawn to chart the shape of the distance travelled. The quality of the line drew from physical and emotional landscapes, and was affected by mode of transit, weather, mood, presence, and interactions. What resulted was a sort of anti-map : a collection of lines, symbols and imagery that chart and translate one body's movement across the land, yet remains mostly unreadable in any utilitarian sense by anyone other than the map-maker. The entirety of the book was hand-translated to 16mm film, becoming more of an emotional and memory map, as any re-telling of a story is bound to become.
