I do not own the rights to this song. The Band that created this song are known as Dispatch, and they own all rights to this song, although this music video we'll never be used for any sort of financial profit. The actors within this music video are Cody Jones, Erin Jones and Trinity Legill. The creative decisions and interpretive acts that went into creating this new music video mostly involved the feelings and emotions generated from the song itself. The song has a very relaxing yet adventurous sound to it, and so that is why I decided to shoot this music video at a secluded cabin up in the mountains. I thought that the 3 people seen in this music video could act as the “wild ones” that are mentioned throughout the song, and the cabin could serve as the calming and comforting feeling obtained while listening. I also felt that since the song gave off somewhat an adventurous feeling, I needed to have the majority of the scenes shot in exterior locations. I not only wanted to include exterior locations, but also all of the little details about the exterior locations, which can be seen during the sequence showing the close-up shots of the hummingbirds. Moving onto another reason on how this specific song has influenced my creative decisions when creating this music video was that it is not my song and I do not know the band behind the song, which forced me into creative more of a narrative based music video. I am a very big fan of music videos that at least include a small amount of lip synching or a performative style, but Instead I focused on simply creating a narrative video with a strong beginning, middle and end. I really wanted to focus on cutting each of the shots with the rhythm of the song, in order to keep the viewer hooked and entertained. The tempo of the editing never really changes very dramatically throughout the song, but I personally like this very much because it matches the overall tempo of the song itself. To carry on with the thought on the narrative structure of this music video and how I wanted a very strong beginning, middle and end, I also really wanted the music video to feel like an adventure in and of itself. As previously mentioned I get a very adventurous vibe from this song, so I decided to record this music video by simply recording every event that occurred during our adventure to the cabin in the mountains. I also wanted a music video to have an overall natural feeling, which is why I decided to stick with a lot of very simple shots with not a lot of movement. I thought that this decision would force the viewer to focus more on what is happening throughout the adventure shown in the music video, and less about the beauty and movement of the shots. Overall the song this music video is centered around had a lot of influence on all of the creative decisions made in the creation, and I focused very hard on transferring the same emotions and feelings that I felt when listening to the song.
