Welcome to the fourth episode of Move of the Month! My concept is simple: on the last Sunday of each month (or in this case, on the last bank holiday of the month), I share a dance movement I learnt during that month. The rule is that whatever movement I show should be new to me. It should be a move I had never done before or never knew how to do.

This month, at The Place, the guest teacher whose class I hadn't taken before was Charlotte Pook. I really enjoyed the way she combined Release with elements of more formal techniques to create moves such as this lovely, contemporary fouetté. The powerful flow and fine phrasing of her sequences were so satisfying to dance that they gave me goosebumps!

Move of the Month is inspired by Nadia Vadori-Gauthiers' Une minute de danse par jour (daily minute-long dances) and by Giulia Coti Zelati and Miranda Sheehy's Tiny Dances (weekly 30 second dance films).
