This 2019 structural film was shot on a 16 mm Bolex camera for an undergraduate film class assignment. Featuring Venezuelan creator Guillermo 'Memo' Rodriguez, this assignment combines a lot of elements in a playful composition.

When I wasn't playing with the Bolex that semester in school, you could find me tucked in watching silly reality game shows on Netflix all day long. 'Minute to Win It' is a lot more about the curiosity of process than actual result; and yet, it is still one of my favorite films under 3 minutes.

'Memo' killed the task of the film, so the wonderful drama of failure was never delivered when we shot this experiment. But what's so sexy about the Bolex is that you can't really go back, can you? I just had to keep shooting. The zoom action that happens throughout the film almost screams my impatience and anxiety with the camera — and f**k it, I dig it now.

Can we keep looking at one another, can we go on seeing ourselves in a world of polarized distractions? I'm not sure this film answers it at all, but it was at the time, one step closer towards that answer.
