Ślub 0, to manifest, obietnica (lub pragnienie obietnicy), dana przede wszystkim Patrzącemu oraz sobie, a jednocześnie gest wyjścia poza język / znaczenie / (nie)możliwość. Obraz przedstawia usta, wypowiadające fragment przysięgi małżeńskiej, jaką składa się podczas ceremonii zaślubin w polskich Urzędach Stanu Cywilnego: „ślubuję ci miłość, wierność, uczciwość oraz że cię nie opuszczę aż do śmierci". Pozbawienie obrazu dźwięku powoduje pozbawienie wypowiadanych słów treści: czy obietnica jako taka, jako byt językowy, jest możliwa? Czy obiecanie miłości i wierności, choćby wobec siebie, nie zawiera już nie/możliwości? Pozostaje ruch ust, choreografia warg, mówiących j a k i e ś słowa, które wyłączone z rzeczywistości językowej, nie mają >żadnego< znaczenia.

Tematem pracy jest więc opozycja między performatywnością (sprawczością), a konwencjonalnością języka, inspirowana teorią performatywnych aktów mowy Johna L. Austina oraz rzeczywistością. Zgodnie z teorią Austina istnieją akty mowy, mające moc zmiany rzeczywistości. W rozprawach Austina, najczęściej używanym przez niego przykładem są słowa przysięgi małżeńskiej, które – zgodnie z jego argumentacją – wypowiadane w określonych okolicznościach mają moc zmiany rzeczywistości (ustanowienie rzeczywistości poprzez słowo): na mocy słów dwie osoby stają się np. mężem i żoną („czynię was mężem i żoną”). Z drugiej strony, zawarta w języku obietnica ma charakter wyłącznie konwencjonalny / symboliczny.

Praca pierwotnie pokazana była jako wideo-instalacja, składająca się z dwunastu, znajdujących się w pustej pracowni komputerowej monitorów, wyświetlających wideo niesynchronicznie. Jako taka, instalacja stanowi również prolog do planowanej pracy o kondycji relacji miłosnych / małżeńskich. Praca była także częścią seansu performance pod tym samym tytułem (Ślub 0).

Vow 0 is a manifesto, a promise (or a desire for a promise), given primarily to the Looker-on and to myself, and at the same time a gesture of going beyond language / meaning / (un)possibility. The image put a mouth on, saying a fragment of the marriage vows declared during the marriage ceremony in Polish Civil Registry Offices: "I vow you love, faithfulness and honesty and I will not leave you until death." Depriving the image of the sound deprives the spoken words of content: does >a promise< as such exists, is it, as a linguistic being, possible? Doesn’t the promise of love and fidelity, even if made to oneself, contain aspect of im/possible? There remains the movement of lips, choreography of lips, saying words with no meaning, excluded from linguistic reality .

The subject of the work is the opposition between performativity (pertinence) and conventionality of language, inspired by the theory of performative acts of speech by John L. Austin and reality. According to Austin's theory, there are speech acts that have the power to change reality. In Austin's dissertations, the most frequently used example are the words of a marriage vow, which – according to his argumentation – expressed in certain circumstances, have the power to change reality (establishing reality through the word): on the strength of words, two people become eg husband and wife ("I make you husband and wife"). On the other hand, the promise contained in the language is purely conventional / symbolic.

The work was originally shown as a video-installation, consisting of TWELVE monitors, located in an empty computer lab, displaying video in non-synchronous time. As such, it also constitutes a prologue to the planned work about love / marriage relations.
The installation was also part of a performance performance under the same title (Vow 0).
