Cupping uses a small silicone pod that the physical therapist applies directly to the patient’s skin, creating an airtight seal. This allows the therapist to glide the pod around the skin in order to loosen fascia, facilitate healing, encourage blood flow and break up tissue tension. Other benefits include increased mobility and decreased pain with movement. It is safe and comfortable and only applied for about 1-3 minutes.
