How can we transform all of those walls that we have built around our hearts as a result of perceived betrayal into lenses through which we can look to view another perspective?

As we grow up, we all experience occasional disappointment at the hands of another person. As this happens more and more, it is our instinct to grow weary of trusting others. So instead we harden our hearts and close ourselves off.
We all, to some extent, put these walls up to guard and protect our heart, but at what point do these walls become locked cages; trapping us inside of our own tangled web of emotions and the limited perspective of our egoic self.....
to the extent that we are unable to empathize with the intentions of others?

This video is a movement and color study on the relationship between fear and love.
It is the fear of being hurt or being seen for who we really are that makes us compare ourselves and hate on one another. Fear is the opposite of love, not hate. Hate... is just a mask we wear to hide our fears.
How can we avoid letting our hearts turn hard, heavy, or hateful when we feel unseen or betrayed?
How can we turn all the walls that we have built around our hearts as a result of perceived betrayal into lenses through which we can look to understand a new perspective?
