Over 10 days in May 2022 over 800 children and their adults took part in a large-scale child-built art installation in Warley Woods in Smethwick.
The programme was part of FLOW Children’s Biennial produced by The Parakeet and was led by Woodland Tribe a construction playwork company working alongside Forest School practitioners Wild Lives Forest School and Artists from Cloud Cuckoo Land Theatre and was called ‘Build Your Own Art Centre’.

FLOW is a festival of bold and imaginative arts and culture made with, by and for Children in Birmingham and Sandwell, produced and curated by The Parakeet for the Birmingham 2022 Festival. FLOW places children at the centre of the action as designers, makers and artists, for a captivating multi-artform programme of events throughout the summer of 2022 from May - August.
