Eyeballs$$ is an interactive video installation consisting of a digital projector, screen and video camera. Participant's disembodied heads will appear on the screen on a background long video loop of previous participants. Pairs of words will rain down on them such as true false, right left, blue red, love hate, black white, etc. The words pairs will alternately attack each other and bounce off each other as they are attracted down toward the heads. When a word hits a head, the eyeballs bulge out cartoon style and the word turns into $$ and float back up into the clouds at the top of the screen. A participant's head movement causes their disembodied head image to fly around the screen in that direction, potentially hitting words and bouncing them off of other participant's heads and back and forth.
(Occasionally there will be little flashes in the clouds of logos for facebook, google, twitter, russia, china that eat the $$ and get bigger)
The video is only a preliminary sketch of the piece. Most of the coding is complete, but a lot of the details of the effects, fonts and dynamics would be improved in the final piece. I could also send an executable that would run it on any recent Apple computer. The final version would run on a Linux based PC.
