For the spot “Testing Machine” Directors Joshua Cox and Solomon Burbridge created a symbolic interpretation of the Bogs Footwear testing facility and what goes on there.
The result is an immersive tour through a minimalist machine full of absurd hyperbole and fun. Each scene focuses on one key characteristic of Bogs testing: from squash-ability to waterproofness and is interpreted in a sculpturally whimsical manner.
Using a seamless combination of Live Action, CGI and Stop Motion Animation, the spot is inspired by Conceptual Photography, Rube Goldberg Machines and the dry humor of the BBC science show “Look Around You.”
